The Official Spanish Chamber of Commerce in France (COCEF) has bestowed to the Saica Group the “Best Company of the Year Award 2016” for its presence and investments in France. The president of the Aragon-based multinational company, Ramón Alejandro, collected this award yesterday from the president of the Official Spanish Chamber of Commerce in France (COCEF), José Miguel García and in the presence of the Spanish Ambassador in France, Ramón de Miguel. The president of Saica was particularly grateful given that “this award recognises our efforts and motivates us for the future”. The Aragon-based multinational company has a presence in France with 14 sites which employ more than 1,500 people and a turnover that in 2015 reached 439 million euros. Throughout 2016, the Saica Group has continued its investment and commitment to renewable projects in France; specifically it has decided to invest in a biomass plant at the Saica Paper Venizel facility. This is a 45 million euro investment that has had the support of the ADEME (French Environment and Energy Management Agency).

"This Project represents a long term commitment that will allow the Venizel plant to improve its competitiveness through an approach that combines protecting the environment, circular economy and the commitment to green energy and recycling."

Ramón Alejandro, chairman of Saica Group.

The Venizel plant makes up part of Saica Paper, which also has facilities in El Burgo de Ebro (Zaragoza, Spain) and Partington (United Kingdom). Venizel has been the “launching point” for the development of the Group’s activities in this European country.
