The 12th edition of the Boules Tournament in the Arrabal Festivities came to a head this Friday in a final that took place, as is tradition, in the Plaza de Saica. The winners were the trio made up of Calavia, Francés and Rubio from the El Terminillo Senior Centre. They were victorious over Luna, García and Miranda from the Laín Entalgo Senior Centre.

The tournament took place throughout the week and the runners-up final was played between Grima, Mur and Serrano from Salvador Allende, who took third place and Ibardia, Sánchez and Hernández from Casablanca who ended in fourth place.

At the end of the competition, in which this year 48 teams made up of a total of 144 players took part, the participants went to the cooperative building of the multinational company where the trophy award giving ceremony took place. Here, the president of the Municipal Council of El Rabal, Lola Ranera, the PP councillor, Reyes Campillo, the president of the Tío-Jorge-Arabal neighbourhood association, Rafael Tejedor, and the general manager of Saica Natur, Víctor Sanz all took part.
Ranera thanked the Aragon-based multinational company for its support in the festivities. The president of the Municipal Council of El Rabal stated that “each year you show us that you’re a great company with a commitment to the neighbourhood and city, and from your Corporate Responsibility policy, you’re very generous with El Rabal”.

Víctor Sanz thanked all of the participants and encouraged the organisers to continue growing. “We’ve been in the neighbourhood since 1941 and here is where we want to stay, we like to open our doors to all our neighbours and be an example of the harmonious co-habitation that unites us”, he claimed.

After the prize giving ceremony, the participants, authorities and directives from the company raised a glass of Spanish wine to close the event.
