Saica Reveals its Ability to Respond to the Needs of the Customer’s Value Chain

Saica Pack, manufacturer of corrugated cardboard packaging from recycled paper, recently held its 8th Professional European Conference in Bordeaux.

More than 140 professionals, manufacturers and distributors of industrial products and European consumer goods attended.

Under the slogan “End-To-End Solutions for the new consumers”, on 7th and 8th June Saica Pack held its 8th Professional European Conference in Bordeaux. This was attended by more than 140 professionals from the industry and the consumer sector from seven different European countries. Throughout the conference the knowledge and high level experience of the speakers was shared.
The Country Manager of Saica Pack France, Serge Fourcade, was in charge of opening the event. He highlighted that Saica Pack’s aim is “to create value for our clients throughout the logistics, production and sales chain, providing specialised services in packaging in an integrated, sustainable way”.

From B + Development, one of the European leaders in packaging for e-commerce, the commercial manager Yves Ginoux, shared his knowledge about the logistical trends in e-commerce with direct consequences on the atomization of the delivery points to final customers.

Likewise, Nestlé’s European Procurement Category Manager, Jean Pascal Templier expressed the need for a “long-lasting, structured “client/provider” relationship that leads towards a balanced distribution of values for sustainable growth”.

After that, the new consumer trends in large distribution were discussed by two subject experts: Alois Lokange from Kalista and Grégory Fournier from Dessault Systèmes. Both carried out demonstrations with the latest 3D simulation of the product on the supermarket shelf.

Last of all, the Category Manager, Jacqueline Murphy, from the leading drinks and spirits company, Diageo, explained the methodology and collaborative spirit that is necessary to reach the condition of “strategic” provider.

In the event’s closing ceremony, Saica’s Managing Director, Pedro Gascón, pointed out the “innovation in products, the increase in the production capacity and the value added throughout the entire value chain” as main axis of the Aragon-based multinational company in order to help their customers to meet the new market needs.

Attendees were also able to visit the exhibition of the most innovative products developed by the Group this year, as well as the various specialised services stands that Saica Packs offers its customers. This included: Saica Display, the new Saica Pack brand specialised in Point of Sales solutions; Saica Creative, the graphic creation service for high added value for the packaging; and Saica Mecanización, the expert advice service with regard automatic packaging.

In the same regard, participants were able to make up part of the panel that selected the winners of Saica Pack’s 10th European Competition on Innovation. There was a moment in which they were able to see the projects presented by the 47 R+D centres that Saica Pack has over seven countries.
